Catcombe DUAL Purpose Golden Retrievers

 

In over 40 years of involvement with Golden Retrievers, we have established two main breeding lines – a ‘working’ strain and a ‘show’ strain, both very successful in their own spheres.

All our dogs, whatever their breeding, are given the opportunity to work in the field, using their instincts and natural ability to do the job of work that has been bred into them for generations - retrieving! 
We ‘pick – up’ two to three days throughout the shooting season.

PICKING UP

On a shoot on  Linkenholt Estate, Berkshire

At the beginning of the day in January  it is very cold and frosty with the mist in the valley still. 

The video starts with the beaters waggon rolling along a lane towards the first ‘drive’ followed by us, the Pickers – up,  in the Land Rover with all our dogs in the back...

OBEDIENCE

Although David and I do not compete in Obedience ourselves, dogs that we have bred, in other hands have excelled in this discipline.
 
In the Video we have Meriel Bentley and Catcombe Cyder competing in the Dog Obedience Championships at CRUFTS 2010.
This is their second appearance at Crufts having competed there in 2009 also.

Cyder has two Certificates towards his title of Obedience Champion  - he needs three and we have our fingers crossed !
